Being able to separate oil and water from each other is important in many industries, especially in the oil and gas industry. In this video, you will learn all about oil & water separators. Some of the methods discussed in the video include using heat, gravity, agitation, and others. Heat causes the water and oil molecules to be released more easily because of a change in viscosity and density. Gravity works because of a difference in density between water and oil. Given enough time, the oil will naturally rise to the top of the water. Agitation uses a diverter plate to break surface tension which will cause the separation process to begin. The video will show you examples of each of these, plus more, so you can see exactly how they work.
