You may never need to move it if you’re the only person riding that bike, but it is still a situation to avoid. In order to avoid this, take out your seat post semi-regularly and apply a layer of lubricant on it. This will avoid any reaction between the 2 metals which leads to the seat seizing in place.
After doing this, your seat height may be different from where it is prior to adding the lubricant. This can be quite an annoyance for some people, but it can be dealt with. The easy fix for this is, before you remove the seat, put a piece of tape at the bottom of the post. When you put your seat back in, all you have to do is line up the piece of tape with the bottom of the hole where the seat enters. It is an extremely easy and proactive action to take.
