Why The Need For Android Device Management Systems Is Rising

Android security model

Estimates are putting employee owned smart phones for business use at more than half by 2015, or around 55 percent. As this number goes up, so will the need for stronger Android device management systems. Company information is not adequately protected without some form of Android device management system in place, and companies that eventually are saving money are wisely investing in such programs before something becomes an issue.

Android in the enterprise is a widely used open source operating system, and many of today’s employees use the system, which is managed through Google and which assists greatly in helping companies manage their BYOD devices. Via Android management, companies can wind up saving big bucks by having better protected data that is not as susceptible to hackers as others. Plus, the Android security model, like most mobile device management protocols, is excellent for allowing employers to set automatic updates and restrictions on these phones to further prevent hackers. It also assures these employers that they have done everything possible to keep that data protected.

Today, mobile traffic is accounting for 10 percent of all Internet traffic. However, this number only will keep going up as more people buy these smart phones. And as long as employees keep using their personal devices for work, which they like because they need just one device, they get to pick that device and they get to choose their preferred interface, there will be companies requiring these Android device management services.
