HAZWOPER training is available in the form of eight-hour, 24-hour, and 40-hour classes. How long of a course you need to take depends on what kind of work you do.
The 40-hour HAZWOPER course is for employees whose duties expose them directly to hazardous waste. The 24-hour course is for employees visiting an uncontrolled hazardous waste operation. the eight-hour course is a refresher course for employees who are involved with hazardous waste.
